Videolink uses role-based permissions to control what users can view, edit, and manage inside your organization.
This ensures the right people have the right level of access.
👤 User Roles Overview
There are typically two main levels of permissions:
- Ogranization Member
- Admin
(Some permissions may vary depending on your plan.)
👥 Member
Members can:
- Record videos
- View videos they have access to
- Comment on videos
- Mention teammates
- Generate AI summaries and transcripts
- Share videos (based on access settings)
- Respond to video requests
Members cannot:
- Manage organization settings
- Add or remove team members
- Change billing settings
- Modify organization-wide configurations
Members are ideal for product managers, engineers, designers, support, and contributors.
đź› Admin
Admins have full control over the organization.
They can:
- Do everything a Member can
- Add or remove team members
- Assign roles
- Manage organization settings
- Control access defaults
- Manage integrations (Slack, GitHub, etc.)
- Oversee analytics across the organization
- Manage billing (if applicable)
Admins are typically founders, team leads, or operations managers.
đź”’ Video-Level Permissions
In addition to organization roles, videos have their own access settings.
You can assign:
- Viewer – Can watch but not edit
- Editor – Can edit title, trim, blur, and adjust access
This allows fine-grained control per video.
🏢 Organization-Wide Access
With the “Everyone at Organization” setting:
- All logged-in members with your company domain can view the video.
- Editor access still needs to be assigned individually.
